Red is the second most-tagged trend of the entire Fall/Winter 2026 season. In Paris it is the first — ahead of check, ahead of velvet, ahead of fur. Givenchy's Look 32 sent it out in draped crimson against black leather and black gloves.
Coveteur put it more plainly. They called it the red rule, and reported no exceptions to it — the punchy hue turning up at Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler and Coach, all of them in the form of dresses. They have written before about the red dress effect, and this season the designers appear to agree.
It ran well past dresses. Valentino built long gowns in it for Fall/Winter. Balenciaga cut leather outerwear in it. At Tom Ford, Haider Ackermann sent out a suede skirt suit in poppy red. Bottega Veneta showed a flat block-red mini against black gloves.
And the shade is not one shade. Tomato leans warm and slightly orange. Poppy is bright, clear and primary. Crimson and scarlet sit deeper and cooler. The most efficient way into the colour, because a coat is the only thing anyone sees you in for half the year. RÓHE's is cotton gabardine, cut long. Jacquemus works in a cotton blend. And Reformation's Beck trench brings it under three hundred and fifty dollars, which is the entry point for a trend piece you will still want in three winters.
Six arguments about what a red jacket is for. Valentino Garavani's tweed is the formal one and the most expensive thing in this edit. LOEWE's wool-blend blazer is tailoring. Jil Sander's technical jacket is the season's other trend in the season's colour. Auralee works in cotton, RÓHE goes hooded and oversized, and The Frankie Shop's Drea bomber is the one to wear with jeans.

The form the runways reached for first — Tory Burch, Proenza Schouler and Coach all showed red as a dress. Carolina Herrera's Fan gathered silk minidress is the evening version. Sportmax, self-portrait, TWP and Sergio Hudson cover the middle. Cult Gaia does it twice in cutout maxis, and Isabel Marant's Ormany brings it under four hundred.
Where red becomes a wardrobe rather than an occasion. Khaite's Margaux and Tove's Malia are cashmere. Nili Lotan's Tirza is a belted cable-knit cashmere cardigan, and Jardin des Orangers brings cashmere in under three hundred. Aimé Leon Dore's ribbed cotton polo is the casual one, and LESET's James is wool. All of them work with denim and none of them ask anything of the rest of the outfit.
The quietest way to wear it, and the one that goes under everything else here. Valentino Garavani's scarf-detailed silk-georgette blouse is the dressed version. Tibi's is cotton-twill gabardine, cut easy. Comme Si's cotton poplin is two hundred and seventy-five dollars and the one to buy if you have never worn red before.
The boldest half of a red suit, and the piece most people skip. LOEWE's belted pleated cargo is cotton and silk-blend gabardine. Valentino's crepe couture pant is the tailored one, and pairs with the Garavani jacket above for the full look. Comme Si's silk-bias cuts closest to the body. Worn with a white shirt and nothing else asking for attention.
